Fairytale weddings are all well and good, but nothing beats a science fiction theme to really tell the world of your depth and commitment to one another. Sure, Halloween comes around every year, but there may be only one opportunity to get a great picture of a bunch of guys in tuxedos huddled around a Dr. Who groom's cake. There is virtually no end to the ways in which superheroes can be woven through a wedding theme. Bedeck the lapels of all the groomsmen with boutonnieres made from miniature action heroes and a sprig of something green. For example, the partner who wants to propose with a Pokémon engagement ring designed in a pattern of diamonds, rubies and emeralds may have to make a date with a jeweler well in advance.

Themed weddings, whether they are based on a shared love of algebra or on a mutual obsession with Batman, can be a great way for couples to begin a life together. The humor, preparation and commitment to an idea can combine to be a superlative bonding experience. Guests may also feel as though they are participating in the joke and will have more fun.
