Clayton Dee Smith
Ordained Minister in Waxahachie, Texas
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
My grandson and his fiancee asked me to officiate their wedding since they didn't belong to a traditional church and had no minister to travel to their remote location. I was truly honored by their trust in me and realized that many other couples in the area could benefit from similar services. This opportunity would allow me to share the word of God with various couples as they begin their journey together.
Where are you from?
I was born and raised in a small town in western Oklahoma called Elk City, where I lived for about 21 years. After that, I moved to Little Rock, Arkansas, and spent the next 25 years building a career in the food service industry. Eventually, I relocated to the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex in Texas, where I have been living for the past 18 years.
What do you hope to achieve with your online ordination?
I want to offer my wedding officiant services to couples not planning a traditional church wedding but still wish to have a Christian-based ceremony in an outdoor or remote setting.
