Cassandra Buckridge
Ordained Minister in Anchorage, Alaska
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
I became an ordained minister to ensure that all consenting adults in Alaska have the ability to celebrate their love in a legally binding ceremony, no matter their background, beliefs, or who they love. Marriage is a deeply personal commitment, and everyone deserves the right to formalize that bond in a way that is both meaningful and legally recognized.
Alaska offers some of the most breathtaking, pristine settings for a wedding—whether it’s against a backdrop of towering mountains, beside a peaceful glacial lake, or in the heart of a quiet forest. There’s something truly special about exchanging vows in a place that feels as vast and untamed as love itself.
Where are you from?
I am a lifelong Alaskan, dedicated to maintaining the kind and generous spirit of our land and culture.
What do you hope to achieve with your online ordination?
Unfortunately, the legal landscape for marriage in the U.S. remains uncertain. While marriage equality is currently the law of the land, shifting political tides and varying state laws create unnecessary obstacles for some couples. Alaska remains a place where love is honored without question, and for those who need a safe, legally recognized place to marry, it’s here. My goal is simple: to officiate weddings with warmth, authenticity, and a commitment to ensuring that love—whatever form it takes—gets the recognition it deserves.
