Yurii Olkhovyk
Ordained Minister in Chernihiv, Chernihivs'ka Oblast'
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
My name is Yurii Olkhovyk, born on December 26, 1978, currently residing in Chernihiv, Ukraine. I am a journalist, a proud member of the European Union Press Association, and a coordinator of the HR Christian Press Group. My path toward becoming an ordained minister with Universal Life Church (ULC) was inspired by my belief in the power of unity and the shared mission to serve God and humanity. As a pastor, I strongly support the ULC's core principles of universal connection, compassion, and the idea of bringing people together, regardless of their differences. My ministry is guided by the belief that every individual is called to contribute to the betterment of the world by spreading love, understanding, and faith. I see my role as a pastor as an extension of my work in journalism and community coordination. Through my words and actions, I aim to inspire people to seek harmony and live a life rooted in shared service to God and each other. This journey has been a natural progression from reporting on stories of faith and hope to actively participating in building stronger, faith-driven communities. In joining Universal Life Church, I am proud to be part of a global community dedicated to breaking down barriers and fostering a worldwide spiritual family.
Where are you from?
I am from Ukraine, from the beautiful historic city of Chernihiv, renowned for its rich cultural and spiritual heritage. Unfortunately, Chernihiv, like many other cities in Ukraine, is currently going through difficult times due to the war. However, with God’s help and the support of faithful people, I sincerely hope that peace will return to our land, and people’s hearts will be filled with love, understanding, and a desire for spiritual unity. I believe that the trials we are facing will make us stronger and wiser, uniting us for the common good and a brighter future.
What do you hope to achieve with your online ordination?
Through my online ordination with Universal Life Church, I hope to achieve several important goals: First and foremost, I aim to spread the message of peace, love, and unity, especially during these challenging times for my country and the world. I want to support people spiritually, helping them find hope and strength in their faith. I also see my role as a bridge between different communities, promoting understanding, tolerance, and compassion among people of all backgrounds. My ordination gives me the opportunity to serve others through weddings, blessings, and other ceremonies, helping them mark the most meaningful moments of their lives. Ultimately, I want to inspire others to build stronger, faith-driven communities, where kindness and spiritual connection are at the core. My goal is to contribute to a more peaceful and united world, one small step at a time.

My religious affiliations are rooted in spiritual inclusivity, love, and unity. I believe that faith transcends boundaries, bringing people together from different backgrounds and beliefs. I am passionate about interfaith dialogue and finding common ground among diverse communities, focusing on what connects us rather than what separates us.
I draw inspiration from universal values such as compassion, kindness, and service, which guide both my ministry and personal life. I believe that everyone’s spiritual path is unique, and I fully support the idea that each person should have the freedom to explore and grow in their own faith journey.
