Jovany Vazquez
Ordained Minister in Boston, Massachusetts
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
I originally became an ordained minister online because I felt a deep calling to serve others in a way that was personal, meaningful, and accessible. I’ve always believed that ministry isn’t confined to a church building—it’s about meeting people where they are, celebrating life’s special moments, and offering love and support in both joyous and difficult times.
Becoming ordained online provided me with the opportunity to step into that role without the barriers of traditional seminary training, while still upholding the deep responsibility of spiritual guidance. Whether officiating weddings, offering counsel, or simply being a source of encouragement, I see this path as a way to share kindness and faith in a way that’s open to all.
At the heart of it, I became a minister because I believe everyone deserves to feel seen, heard, and valued. If I can help bring that light to others, then I am fulfilling my purpose.
Where are you from?
I’m from Boston, MA, and it has shaped so much of who I am today. Growing up here, I’ve come to appreciate the sense of community, the values that bring people together, and the kindness that can be found in everyday moments.
Being a minister allows me to give back to the people around me, whether they’re from Boston, MA or beyond. No matter where someone comes from, I believe in creating connections that uplift and inspire, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve in this way.
What do you hope to achieve with your online ordination?
With my online ordination, I hope to create a space where people feel supported, uplifted, and valued—no matter where they are on their journey. My goal is to be present for life’s most meaningful moments, whether that’s officiating a wedding, offering comfort in times of loss, or simply being a listening ear when someone needs encouragement.
I believe that ministry is about connection, love, and service, and I hope to use my ordination to extend those values to as many people as possible. Everyone deserves to be celebrated, comforted, and heard, and if I can play even a small role in making that happen, then I will consider this calling a blessing fulfilled.

Additional Information
Of course! Here’s a warm and inclusive response for that question:
I come from a Catholic background, and my faith has deeply shaped my values of love, service, and compassion. However, I want to emphasize that my role as a wedding officiant is not limited to Catholic ceremonies. I truly believe that love is universal, and I honor and respect the diverse beliefs, traditions, and spiritual paths that couples bring to their wedding day.
My goal is to create a ceremony that is meaningful and personal to each couple, whether that includes religious elements, spiritual traditions, or a completely secular celebration. Love is what brings people together, and I am honored to be part of such a beautiful and significant moment, no matter the background or beliefs of the couple.
What do you think makes your ceremonies special as a Boston, MA wedding officiant?
What makes my ceremonies special as a wedding officiant is the heart and personal touch I bring to every couple’s special day. I believe that a wedding ceremony should be a true reflection of the couple’s love story—their journey, values, and the unique bond they share. That’s why I take the time to get to know each couple, listen to their vision, and craft a ceremony that feels authentic, meaningful, and unforgettable.
Whether it’s a lighthearted and joyful celebration or a deeply spiritual and heartfelt moment, my goal is to create an atmosphere where couples and their loved ones feel fully present, connected, and filled with love. Every love story is unique, and I consider it an honor to help bring that story to life in a way that feels personal and special to them.
