Aaron J Wisti
Ordained Minister in Omaha, Nebraska
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
In the congregations I once attended, I saw firsthand the struggles, heartaches, and silent battles carried by those in the pews. It became clear to me that any concept of divine love must reach further than human judgment or church dogma. Sitting in the back rows of fundamentalist churches, I felt a deep conviction—not to preach doctrines, but to embody compassion.
While voices like Reverend Billy Graham once stirred me with their call to speak of love with conviction, my path has led me beyond the boundaries of traditional religion. My ministry now grows from that same seed of compassion, but takes root in a different soil: the streets, shelters, and neighborhoods of downtown Omaha. I seek to offer presence, dignity, and healing conversation—uplifting rather than dividing, restoring rather than condemning. My calling is not about enforcing belief, but about walking with people as they search for truth, family strength, and genuine community.
My background gives me a wide perspective: I carry the influence of many cultures and places, but my calling is rooted here in Omaha. While my personal approach is non-religious, I recognize the profound role faith and religion play in the lives of many people my wife and I encounter. That respect shapes how I listen, how I engage, and how I offer support within my community.
Where are you from?
I was born in Oroville, California, and spent my early years traveling with my dad while he served in the U.S. Air Force—living for a time in Japan and the Philippines before eventually settling for a few years in Wisconsin. Today, I make my home in Omaha, Nebraska, with my wife, Tina, who is also a minister.
What do you hope to achieve with your online ordination?
Through my ministry, I aim to embody a compassionate and inclusive spirituality that uplifts rather than exploits. My focus is on helping people recognize their inherent worth while encouraging love and acceptance beyond rigid religious doctrine. Following the example of compassion shown by Jesus in the Holy Bible, I work to provide meaningful support online and in my community—serving as a connector who helps individuals navigate resources and agencies in one accessible space.
