Patrina Reddick, Ph.D., Msw
Ordained Minister in Charlotte, North Carolina
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
Greetings,
I am Patrina Reddick, a newly ordained minister, humbled and blessed to be on this divine journey of service. My relationship with the church has been lifelong, starting at the age of 5 when I walked through the doors and chose to join on my own. Since then, I’ve continuously learned, grown, and developed my ministerial leadership, deeply committed to God’s work and his people (all of us).
Throughout the years, my journey has been one of learning from others and personal reflection as I’ve sought to serve and lead in the spirit of guidance, love, and understanding. It is an honor to now stand before you as a minister, ready to lead with the heart and wisdom God has nurtured in me since those early days of faith.
I am excited to continue walking in the footsteps of those who have inspired me, and I look forward to all the ways we will grow together in service and faith. Thank you for your support and trust as we embark on this spiritual journey.
Where are you from?
I was born in Charlotte, North Carolina, and raised in New Haven, Connecticut. My educational journey began at Syracuse University, where I majored in pharmacy management before transitioning into business and retail management. My passion for helping others led me to pursue a Master of Social Work Degree from Springfield College in Massachusetts. My commitment to serving others can greatly expand now that I have received my Doctoral Degree through the Universal Life Church.
In my professional career, I've worked as a clinical therapist, certified in Multi-Systemic Therapy, and had the honor of being published in the inaugural Best Practice for Youth Development Manual through Yale University School of Medicine, supported by the Reader's Digest Fund.
As the Co-Founder and Executive Director of PIMOSH (People Involved in Motivating Our Students Higher), I've provided opportunities to hundreds of quality certified teachers, college students, and retired professionals through multiple State Departments of Education and other local and state organizations to provide academic tutoring, mentoring, arts education, and technology opportunities to children and youth, including McKinney-Vento (Homeless Youth) students and their families.
The work I am called to do is my true passion, and I am dedicated to doing everything I can to ensure children and families are seen, valued, and empowered in this world.
What do you hope to achieve with your online ordination?
As an ordained minister, I now stand at the threshold of a new chapter in my journey—one where my faith, experience, and passion converge in powerful ways. My life has been shaped by a deep commitment to service, leadership, and empowerment, both professionally and personally. As I step into this new role, I aim to create a lasting impact by using the wisdom and knowledge I've gained to serve others, uplift communities, and guide individuals toward healing and hope.
Counseling is only a tiny part of the role I've assumed here. It's the transferance of self-expressed power to assist others to overcome obstacles that do not seem possible by faith yes, but also through experience.
I am called to bring light and inspiration to struggling people, allowing them to discover their true purpose and potential. Through my work in the church, I will lead with compassion, using my background as a clinical therapist, educator, and advocate for children and families to foster environments of growth, resilience, and faith. My mission is to bridge the gap between spiritual guidance and practical support, helping people navigate life's challenges with faith as their foundation.
In today's world, where so many are searching for meaning and connection, my contribution will be healing, education, and empowerment. I will dedicate myself to nurturing the next generation of leaders, instilling in them the values of love, resilience, and purpose. Whether through sermons, mentoring, or community outreach, I hope to be a catalyst for transformation—empowering others to rise above adversity and find their strength in God's grace.
I aspire to build a legacy where faith meets action, where the church becomes a place of worship, tangible change, and support. As an ordained minister, I hope to touch hearts, inspire minds, and create a world where every individual, family, and community knows their worth and no one is left behind in their pursuit of a better life.
My practice is accepting new partners now - Those who need and those who seek to serve others.

What do you think makes your ceremonies special as a Charlotte, NC wedding officiant?
As a wedding officiant, my services are unique in that they create a meaningful, memorable, personal, meaningful, and significant experience for the couple and their loved ones. Here are several that make my wedding services stand out as unique:
Personalized Ceremonies I can craft a ceremony that reflects the couple's unique love story, making services stand out. I will take the time to get to know the couple and learn about their journey together, their values, and their vision for their wedding day (and future family). Tailoring their desire to incorporate the overall flow of the ceremony, including any readings, vows, and older of service for each ceremony to reflect their collective and individual culture, personalities, and relationship living as one.
Incorporating Spirituality and Faith My spiritual dimension will be woven into the ceremony as an ordained minister, whether the couple desires a profoundly religious ceremony or a more secular celebration. My ability to balance faith with the couple's preferences certainly sets me apart. I offer personalized blessings, prayers, and reflections that resonate with the couple's beliefs and values.
Warm and Engaging Presence Through a mixture of approachability, charisma, and warmth, charisma; my ceremonies aim to leave a lasting impression on each couple and their guests. Being an officiant is about leading a ceremony and creating a comfortable and joyful atmosphere. Still, my ability to engage with the couple and the guests and make everyone feel included and cherished will make the event feel special for all involved.
Memorable Rituals or Traditions Offering unique or custom rituals that elevate the ceremony and create lasting memories could include unity candles, sand blending, handfasting, or even a reflection on the marriage's meaning to the couple. I can also work with the couple to develop a special ritual reflecting their shared values and beliefs as part of the process.
Storytelling and Emotion As an experienced professional, I often use storytelling techniques to share the couple's journey in a compelling and heartfelt way. Sharing personal anecdotes (with their permission) or highlighting moments that have defined their relationship can make the ceremony more touching and memorable. My ability to evoke emotion through storytelling will make the ceremony stand out in the minds of those who attend.
Seamless and Stress-Free Experience My business, organizational, and professional skills make the planning process smoother and stress-free for the couple. I offer the couple a clear outline of what to expect, being responsive to their questions and ensuring everything flows smoothly on the ceremony day. A well-organized ceremony will stand out for its seamless flow and ease.
After-Care and Follow-Up I'm offering services beyond the ceremony to help couples with post-wedding needs. I offer marriage counseling, support in blending families, or even help with celebrating anniversaries. I want to be someone they can continue to turn to for guidance and support, enhancing their experience and making my role as officiant truly special, one couple at a time.
Unique Ceremony Packages I offer unique packages that combine various services, such as pre-marital counseling, custom vows writing, or even a video recording of the ceremony. My creative packages cater to each couple's needs, showing that I am invested in their unique journey. I'm open to providing added value to their ceremony through professional services.
Flexibility and Inclusivity My services accommodate various cultural, religious, and non-religious traditions. Being adaptable to different backgrounds and desires allows me to connect with a broader audience and provides couples with the flexibility to craft a ceremony that feels authentic to them.
By combining my deep faith with each couple's engagement and creativity, I can offer couples a wedding ceremony that stands out as special and deeply meaningful.

Additional Information
I offer spiritual guidance in all areas of life for all people. My experience as a clinical therapist in the secular role makes me a wonderful gift to God's people who seek to do things spiritually. However, there are a few things to consider when planning to marry.
Pre-marital counseling is crucial to preparing for a successful marriage, as it lays the foundation for open communication, mutual understanding, and long-term happiness. The following are the top three meaningful discussions for pre-marital counseling and why they are essential:
- Communication Styles, Conflict Resolution, and Parenting
Why it's crucial: Effective communication is essential in every relationship, especially regarding conflict resolution and parenting. Understanding how partners communicate and resolve disagreements is key to maintaining a healthy marriage. When children are involved, aligning parenting styles and approaches to discipline, education, and nurturing is vital. Misalignment here can lead to frustration, miscommunication, and resentment.
- Expectations for Marriage, Roles, and In-Laws
Why it's essential: Clear expectations about marriage, roles, and relationships with extended family are crucial for long-term success. Unspoken expectations around these issues can cause tension, especially with in-laws and extended family involvement. Couples should be on the same page about how much influence their families will have on their lives and how they will manage their roles within the marriage. Boundaries with in-laws and parental roles are often sources of conflict and require open communication.
- Financial Management, Shared Goals, and Children's Future
Why it's essential: Financial disagreements are one of the most common sources of conflict in marriage, and they are often exacerbated when children are involved. Couples must align on how they will manage their finances, individually and as a family. This includes how they will handle expenses related to children, such as education, health care, and future savings. Discovering how children will be financially supported, both now and in the future, and how you will balance financial responsibilities between both partners will prevent future stress.
These discussions address key aspects of marriage—communication, roles, finances, and the involvement of children and in-laws. By having these conversations early on, couples can create a strong foundation for their marriage, aligned expectations, and a plan for handling life's challenges with love, understanding, and respect.
Note: I will not agree to marry a couple who refuses to oblige the 3-session minimum counseling recommendation. I aim to marry folks who desire to stay married throughout their lives (until death). There's a higher likelihood of success if there are clear conversations about the top three conversations about marriage, where I can help them agree upon a plan with room for adjustments.
