Jeni Manion
Ordained Minister in FEDERAL WAY, Washington
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
One of my closest friends was about to embark on the incredible journey of marriage when her officiant unexpectedly canceled. In a whirlwind of emotions, she turned to me and asked if I would take on the role of her celebrant. I was absolutely thrilled and honored to accept! Since becoming ordained in 2013, I’ve had the privilege of officiating numerous weddings, each one unique and special in its own right.
During the pandemic, I found a profound purpose in helping couples celebrate their love in creative ways when traditional avenues were closed off. It was a time of connection, hope, and resilience, and I’m excited to weave those experiences into future ceremonies.
Where are you from?
I was born in Guam. Being that my father was a dedicated member of the Air Force meant our family moved around quite a bit, experiencing new places and cultures. I spent my middle and high school years in Anchorage, Alaska before living in Guadalajara, Mexico for a year and a half. Now, for the past 25 years, I have called the Seattle area home, where the lush landscape and eclectic culture continue to inspire me. Each place I have lived has left its mark on me, fueling my passion for exploration and my appreciation for the diverse tapestry of life. What an exhilarating journey it has been!
