Tracey Walker
Ordained Minister in Grand Rapids, Michigan
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
I became ordained to foster deeper connections through personalized rituals and ceremonies, rooted in my belief that community care is essential at life’s most significant transitions. My work as a death doula inspired me to create meaningful, inclusive end-of-life celebrations that honor each individual’s story and provide a space for legacy, reflection, and peace.
With ordination, I hope to continue breaking barriers in creating ceremonies that reflect diverse identities, ensuring everyone feels seen and valued. As part of the Queer community, expanding into wedding officiation was a natural step. It allows me to celebrate love in all its forms, with a particular focus on officiating same-sex marriages. I understand firsthand the profound importance of having one’s love story recognized and celebrated authentically. My goal is to provide couples with ceremonies that honor who they are, while fostering a sense of belonging and joy.
