I choose to get ordained online because it was convenient at the time to help my local church and family. Some other reasons are the following:

1. Supporting Loved Ones: Wanting to officiate for friends or family to give their ceremony a more personal and heartfelt touch.

2. Inclusive and Customizable Approach: Offering ceremonies that reflect modern values, including inclusivity and personalization, without being tied to traditional religious institutions.

3. Convenience and Accessibility: Online ordination is a flexible way to become legally recognized as a minister without a lengthy or costly process, which appeals to those passionate about officiating but not necessarily seeking a full-time ministry career.

4. Community and Purpose: Serving as a minister can be a fulfilling way to give back, celebrate important moments, and bring people together.

To give back to the community and raise up new voices

I grew up Methodist, with a Catholic father and a Baptist grandmother. Experiencing different Christian traditions helped me develop an appreciation for diverse beliefs and the ways people connect with faith.

My Christian faith has inspired a commitment to compassionate, inclusive service. I founded an HIV ministry focused on education and support for individuals and families, led recovery groups, supported people overcoming sexual addiction, and provided guidance to individuals and couples. I have also hosted Bible studies, led prayer lines, organized conferences, and facilitated inclusive leadership and advocacy training.

I strive to create a safe, open-minded, judgment-free environment where people can express themselves freely. As a wedding officiant, I respect each couple’s beliefs and welcome the opportunity to honor their faith, traditions, and values without imposing my own.

While I haven’t officiated a wedding ceremony yet, I bring my experience as a minister, recovery coach, community advocate, and someone who has shared 15 years of marriage with my husband. Those experiences have taught me the importance of listening, compassion, communication, and honoring each person’s story.

My approach includes three sessions with each couple before their wedding to get to know them, explore what their commitment means, and create a ceremony that reflects their love, values, and personalities.

What I hope will make my ceremonies special is the care behind them. Every couple deserves to stand at the altar as their authentic selves, celebrating their love in words that feel like their own.

My ministry centers on compassion, inclusion, and meeting people where they are. I offer prayer, Bible studies, recovery support, spiritual encouragement, and guidance for individuals and couples. My experience also includes founding an HIV ministry, facilitating support groups, and organizing educational conferences.

As I begin offering wedding ceremonies, I include three sessions with each couple beforehand to build trust, understand their story, and create a meaningful, personalized ceremony. Although I have not officiated a wedding yet, I bring years of community service and a heartfelt commitment to helping people feel supported through life’s milestones and challenges.
