Martina H. Meyer
Ordained Minister in Alexandria, Virginia
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
I’ve been a love, life, leadership and relationship coach for over a decade now. Recently one of my “Calling in ‘The One’” clients got engaged, and asked me if I would be open to officiating their wedding. I’ve always felt like coaching is a sacred journey - so being able to extend this journey into including a way to celebrate such sacred moments like a wedding feels like a natural step.
Where are you from?
Born and raised in Germany I’ve been in the US for a couple decades now. I’ve lived in Phoenix AZ, a couple places in California, Utah and for over 10 years I call Alexandria VA my home.
What do you hope to achieve with your online ordination?
As a coach I hold a sacred space for my clients that facilitates for them to experience new possibilities for who they are and can be in life, love and all aspects of life. Step by step we create a “new normal” to bring dreams into reality. Now I intend to alose officiate celebratory and transitional moments in life, such as a wedding, or a memorial service, to officially mark the reality that my clients have brought forth.
Religious Affiliations
Universal Life Church, Other
Additional Information
I have deep spiritual roots and practices - without a strict religious affiliation. I respect all religions, and continue to be a student of A Course In Miracles, Science of Mind by Ernest Holmes and other foundational texts. Also, for me Tai Chi and Argentine Tango serve as way of life, a way of movement, community and inviting others to be moved in body, mind and soul.
What do you think makes your ceremonies special as a Alexandria, VA wedding officiant?
My background as a certified love, life and relationship coach includes teachings like “Calling in ‘The One’’’ (how to create the love we really yearn for from the inside out, and release any unconscious obstacles to love that may have gotten in the way), “Conscious Uncoupling” (how to uncouple from unhealthy dynamics in relationship, so we can continue living wholeheartedly even after or through a breakup or divorce), “The Grief Recovery Method” (which helps us to redefine who we are in the face of significant emotional loss, and actually move through and beyond the pain of our losses in life) as well as “DreamBuilding”, LifeMastery and the Hidden Laws of Leadership - which all contribute to a more whole-hearted and joyful experience of all aspects of life. Ceremonies that celebrate significant moments and milestones are so important - I love co-creating such ceremonies so that they fully convey the meaning of the celebrants and their communities. There are so many ways to celebrate - I love to create the kind of ceremony that’s deep and conscious, in service of unleashing lighthearted joy.
Are there particular areas near you where you prefer to travel or have special experience?
I offer various coaching programs via zoom or in person - and for now intend to offer my services as officiant mainly to my coaching clients. And I’m open to having a conversation with you to see if we’re a good fit to co-create your ceremony, and for me to officiate for you. You can reserve a time to talk on my calendar at martinahmeyer.com. Experience: I’ve facilitated lots of celebratory moments and non-traditional ceremonial moments as part of my coaching practice over the past 10 years. Officiating “official” celebrations is simply a new facet of that for me.
