Min. Virgil E. Welch
Ordained Minister in Baltimore, Maryland
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
I became an ordained minister because I felt a strong calling to guide and support people through life’s important moments. Many individuals search for direction, encouragement, and someone who will listen without judgment. I wanted to be a person who could offer wisdom, compassion, and understanding when others need it most. To me, ministry is about service and leadership through example. It means helping people navigate both joyful and difficult times while encouraging them to grow spiritually and personally. Whether it is officiating ceremonies, offering guidance, or simply being present for someone in need, I believe an ordained minister should help bring people together and promote unity, respect, and hope. Becoming ordained allows me to play a meaningful role in people’s lives while helping them feel supported and valued. My purpose is to uplift others, encourage positive growth, and remind people that they are never alone on their journey. By sharing compassion and guidance, I hope to inspire individuals to live with purpose, kindness, and confidence in their path forward.
Where are you from?
I’m originally from St. Louis, but I’ve spent time living in a few different cities Chicago, New York City, San Francisco, and Washington which has given me a broad perspective on different parts of the country.
What do you hope to achieve with your online ordination?
My goal as an ordained minister is to serve and help others by offering guidance, support, and encouragement during important moments in their lives. I want to help people make thoughtful and meaningful decisions that lead them toward a positive and fulfilling path. Through compassion, understanding, and wisdom, I hope to assist individuals in growing both personally and spiritually. I aim to create a supportive environment where people feel heard, valued, and empowered to become the best versions of themselves. By helping others reflect on their choices and strengths, I hope to inspire growth, resilience, and a deeper sense of purpose in their lives.
