Melissa House
Ordained Minister in Crestwood, Kentucky
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
Actually, my brother was getting married and was unable to find an officiate. I prayed about it, became ordained, and was allowed to bless my brother and his new wife on their very special day! Since then, I’ve met many love stories along the way.
Where are you from?
My life started in Lexington, KY, but I left my roots in Lorenzo, Texas. It is a small town just outside of Lubbock. In 2017, I brought my mom back to Kentucky to reconnect with her side of the family. Marrying my soulmate settled me in Crestwood, KY.
What do you hope to achieve with your online ordination?
I hope I am able to help any beautiful love story become a happily ever after. It has been an honor to share in this experience.

Additional Information
Honestly, I can’t say I am one religion or another. It’s like being put in a box and sticking a label on it. I am Christian, I believe in God, and there is not one religion that defines me. I will never judge anyone based on what their beliefs are. We all deserve to be loved and to have that love celebrated!
What do you think makes your ceremonies special as a Crestwood, KY wedding officiant?
When I am asked to officiate a beautiful union, I consider it an honor. I request to meet in person 1-2 times prior to a week before the date. I want to hear the love story that brings the couple together. I just want to ensure I am doing exactly what is asked of me as far as type of ceremony, the formality of it, if own vows will be written, etc.
Are there particular areas near you where you prefer to travel or have special experience?
I am willing to travel up to about 2 hours, give or take. Truthfully, I will have my husband to drive me anywhere outside of a 20 min radius. I have an eye condition that prevents me from comfortably driving long distances.
