Brenda Mabbitt
Ordained Minister in Davie, Florida
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
I originally decided to become an ordained minister to officiate my sister's wedding as my wedding gift to her and her fiancee (They wouldn't stand for it and paid me to do their service.)
Where are you from?
I was born in Anderson, Indiana, and have been living in South Florida most of my life.
What do you hope to achieve with your online ordination?
As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community (I'm Ace), I feel that it is essential to provide a safe space for my congregants regardless of sexual or gender identity. I performed my first marriage in 2016, officiating the marriage of my sister and sister-in-law. I am open to performing secular and non-secular services. I want to offer a safe space for everyone to be their authentic selves and to help them on their spiritual path, regardless of the belief (or non-belief) systems they adhere to. I minister to all people.

What do you think makes your ceremonies special as a Davie, FL wedding officiant?
When I'm first asked to officiate a wedding, I schedule a meeting with the couple and discuss their special day. This could include planning a specially-themed service, custom vows, and any other unique rituals they would like to have included as part of the ceremony. The goal is to make this day special for the couple, one where its stories will be passed down from generation to generation.

Additional Information
Empathy is perhaps the most important asset I have to offer, especially when it comes to the funeral or memorial service of a loved one. It's my intent to ensure that final wishes are met and that the service is conducted with the respect that the dearly departed deserves.
