Julie S
Ordained Minister in Mystic, Connecticut
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
I was incredibly lucky in March 2020 to be married by an officiant on the porch of my house. It was the beginning of Covid, and my wedding ceremony had to be canceled, when the husband of a friend stepped up and officiated our wedding. I am so happy to be able to now be available to do that for others. In this moment, in this time, it is more important than ever to celebrate love. Please don’t hesitate to reach out and let me know how I can bring you and your love together.
Where are you from?
I was born in NYC, grew up in Los Angeles (with some brief stays in Pennsylvania), and came back to NYC for college and law school where I worked for many years. Meeting my husband who lived in NJ inspired a move to the Garden State and, now, Connecticut.
What do you hope to achieve with your online ordination?
I want to be part of a couple's joy and celebration. I think weddings can become complicated and we lose sight of the fact that it is two people joining their lives, their hopes and dreams, their families. I want to stand before the couple and with them say the words that are meaningful to them and start them down a beautiful path together.

Additional Information
If it is extraordinarily important to you that you have a religious ceremony then I may not be the right person for you. I am happy to officiate any wedding but it is equally important that you not have an expectation that I share your beliefs.
What do you think makes your ceremonies special as a Mystic, CT wedding officiant?
I'm an excellent listener and will be guided by the couple. I don't have an agenda. I will quote song lyrics, a favorite poem, a line from a movie, whatever makes the experience unique to those getting married. It isn't about me but about the couple, and they above all else are what is important.
