Jessica Wakefield
Ordained Minister in San Rafael, California
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
I originally became an ordained minister online to officiate my best friend’s wedding, which was an incredibly meaningful experience. It allowed me to create a deeply personal and heartfelt ceremony for someone I care about. Beyond that, I also utilize my ordination in my work as a mortician, offering comfort and meaningful services to families during some of life’s most profound moments. Being able to officiate both weddings and funerals allows me to honor love, life, and remembrance in a deeply personal way.

What do you think makes your ceremonies special as a San Rafael, CA wedding officiant?
What makes my ceremonies special as a wedding officiant is the deep personalization I bring to each celebration. I craft custom vows that truly reflect the couple’s love story, ensuring their promises are heartfelt and unique. I weave in personal anecdotes, capturing the essence of their journey together—whether it’s a cherished memory, a funny moment, or a shared passion.
I also incorporate symbolic rituals that hold deep meaning, such as handfasting, unity candles, or sand ceremonies, and even create custom rituals tailored specifically to the couple’s values and traditions. My goal is to design a ceremony that is not only meaningful and memorable but also a true reflection of the couple’s love and commitment.
