Shane St Reynolds
Ordained Minister in Southport, Queensland
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
I chose to become an ordained minister to serve and support a diverse, inclusive faith community in a way that is accessible and flexible for people from all walks of life. The digital space enables me to transcend traditional boundaries—geographical, cultural, and denominational—and provide spiritual guidance, encouragement, and resources to those who may feel marginalized or overlooked by conventional church settings. Rooted in progressive Christianity, my ministry embraces love, justice, and diversity, allowing me to offer pastoral care, advocacy, and education that affirm the dignity of every person, including LGBT+ individuals. Being ordained online empowers me to meet people where they are—whether exploring spirituality, wrestling with faith and identity, or seeking support—aligning with my mission to uplift and unify the Australian progressive Christian community and beyond through a safe space for honest conversation and growth.
