As an officiant, I see myself as responsible for more than the service, everything from coordinating with musicians and ushers, making sure the best man has the rings, setting up any ritual items, to double-checking that the marriage license is present and ready to be filled out. Since the bride and groom often have tons of details to remember, I find that being helpful is greatly appreciated. I will be glad to write the script for the ceremony, so it will reflect the two of you, whether that means it should be silly and lighthearted or serious and literary. If you are so inclined, I will encourage you to write your own vows. I place a high significance on the fact that this is your wedding, and it is yours to plan in any way you want. I will honor and respect your beliefs and wishes. I will accommodate requests of a special or sensitive nature, and take into consideration your family traditions, cultural expectations, and individual preferences. Respecting each couple's religious beliefs is of utmost importance to me. I will make you feel calm, comfortable, and confident. While excitement and anxiety may run high, I have the ability to offer support, the better we know each other, for a subsequent calming effect. I am at your disposal to advise and provide experiential guidance. There is a certain flow to a wedding ceremony, but there are ways to customize it to express any couple's style and personality.
