Darnell Edward Walton Sr
Ordained Minister in Lusby, Maryland
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
I originally became an ordained minister online because I wanted the ability to support people during some of the most important moments in their lives—whether that’s performing weddings, offering guidance, or simply being there for family and friends in a meaningful way. It gave me a way to serve others, step up when needed, and be part of something bigger than myself without having to follow a traditional path.
Where are you from?
Washington DC
What do you hope to achieve with your online ordination?
With my online ordination, I hope to be able to show up for people in meaningful ways—especially during important life moments like weddings, renewals, or times when someone just needs guidance or support. I want to use it as a way to give back, bring people together, and make a positive impact in my community and for those close to me. At the end of the day, it’s about being someone others can rely on when it matters most.

What do you think makes your ceremonies special as a Lusby, MD wedding officiant?
What makes my ceremonies special is that they’re truly personal and meaningful. I take the time to get to know each couple—their story, their values, and what makes their relationship unique—so the ceremony reflects who they are, not just a standard script. I aim to create a moment that feels genuine, engaging, and memorable for both the couple and their guests.
I also bring a balance of professionalism and warmth. Whether a couple wants something traditional, spiritual, lighthearted, or completely customized, I adapt my style to match their vision. My goal is to make them feel comfortable, celebrated, and fully present in one of the most important moments of their lives.
