I believe everyone’s Wedding day should be special and an expression of love. Regardless of the simplicity, length or substantial details, it should be memorable. I remember the second and last time I decided to get married. We already had our license in hand. When I spoke the wedding officiant on Christmas Eve day, he only had one time available to conduct the marriage ceremony before the end of the year… Christmas Eve night. Yes, we got married that exact night and it was wonderful! We had already planned Christmas Eve dinner with our best friends coming over to join us and my two children, so they were our witnesses. Neither of us had religious preferences but I have an American Native background, so the officiant asked if I’d like a Native poem entered into the ceremony instead. Absolutely! We were married in front of the Christmas tree with my son and daughter standing beside us and our best friends smiling ear to ear. No stress, no mess…. Nothing but a room full of love! The love I felt in that moment, is what I wish for everyone to experience on their special day! I will do my best to make that happen!
