John R. Davis
Ordained Minister in DeKalb, Illinois
About Me:
I've seen my fair share of corruption and even hate coming from many churches. I've even been involved with a church where members of the gay community were not allowed. I've also seen churches tell people that they're "heathenistic" for not being of the same faith and that their faith is wrong. I don't believe in any of that.
I strongly believe that you have EVERY right to practice whatever faith and worship whatever deity you choose, so long as it doesn't bring physical or emotional harm to others.
I also believe everyone has a right to marry someone they love, regardless of orientation. Religion is for anybody who wants it, as are the practices. I support the rights of alternative lifestyles.
I have experienced many negative things in my own life - death, childhood domestic violence, bullying, failures, and other such issues - and am able to relate to such problems. This is good because it gives me the ability to share those experiences and how I overcame them in hopes of strengthening someone else emotionally.
I focus on Christian based religious practices because Christianity is the religion I know best. However, I would be willing to try conducting services for other religions if requested. I would only ask for ample time to learn the practices of the requested religion.
I also do NOT charge a fee for individualized services such as weddings and funerals. If you feel I did a good job and am deserving of it, you are welcome to tip IF YOU WANT, but I don't charge a fee. I strongly believe religion and its practices should not be a money making scheme.
