Hi, I'm Sherman. I’ve spent my career helping people celebrate life’s biggest moments—with laughter, music, and meaning at the center of it all. What began as a journey in the wedding industry as a DJ and Master of Ceremonies eventually led me to something even more fulfilling: becoming a wedding officiant.

I got ordained in 2005 as a natural extension of my work, thinking it would be a great way to offer even more to the couples I served. After years with one of Michigan’s top wedding companies, I launched my own business in Phoenix, AZ. A few years later, my wife and I followed a dream to Ibiza, Spain, where I was a resident club DJ. Let’s just say: after that experience, it was clear I had climbed the DJ mountaintop—and I was ready for something deeper.

During my time in the wedding world, I had too many conversations with same-sex couples who struggled to find someone willing to officiate their ceremonies. It shocked me—and it lit a fire in me. I knew I could do more than just help people dance. I could help them feel seen, respected, and celebrated.

Becoming a wedding officiant wasn’t just a business decision. It was a calling. There’s a unique joy in standing beside two people as they promise forever. Whether it’s bringing warmth to a ceremony, offering comfort during a difficult time, or simply being someone couples can trust—I consider it one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

I was raised Episcopal, but I'm more spiritual than religious.

Every couple is different, so every ceremony I do is personal. There's no cookie-cutter script—just something that fits you. We get to know each other, vibe a little, and create something that feels like your story, not just a generic wedding.
