Dillon W
Ordained Minister in Clinton, Mississippi
About Me:
I believe that one common trait every living thing responds to, it's love. If you ask someone how I typically sign my letters, they'll say, Love without limitations. If you ask them do I, they'll tell you, yes.
I'll share a bit about my faith as that certainly plays a part in most ceremonies. I was born and raised in the Baptist Church, a denomination of the Christian religion. I never felt like the church and the people around me really "got" what Jesus taught (what he did). That's endless love. meaning, endless acceptance. ALL people. including ALL religions, denominations, beliefs, backgrounds, ethnicities, sexuality, gender, tattooed, pierced. I believe ALL people are Jesus' most prized posession. I wouldn't say that I have a denomination now. When people ask about my faith, I tell them, "I believe in God, I believe in Christ’s sacrifice. However, I believe the church and thousands of years of interpretation have really deviated from the original ideals. When you contrast religions, most all tend to lead to the same place and basic concepts. The paths are different, the idea the same. I believe there isn’t a right or wrong path as long as it’s centered in love, respect, and gratitude.
With that said, I will officiate in many diverse ways. Don't hesitate to hold a discussion with me on your beliefs and how you’d like your special ceremony officiated.
For weddings, I typically include a good bit of humor and a lot of love. The actual point of a wedding shouldn't be the most boring part. I ask for many references of things that make up each person's life. I want to learn about you in the days leading to the wedding. This will ensure that I cater the service to you and your relationship. I'm great at improv, but it certainly makes for a more beautiful experience with preparation and planning in advance.
For Funeral/Memorial Services, I insist on studying the person I am honoring. I ask for many references about the deceased's life, hobbies, passion, personality, etc. Videos, Photos, time with the family and close friends 24+ hrs before the ceremony is preferred to allow time for me truly write a service that honors that person. A service that folks say to you, "Man. It was like that minister knew Jane her whole life! He was wonderful!" I prefer not to perform funeral/memorial services less than 24 hrs in advance; this is the final chapter of the person's life and improv doesn't seem respectful to me.
Other services tend to have the same unique vibe. Let’s chat to make yours extra special!
