William Bowin
Ordained Minister in Galion, Ohio
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
I decided to become an ordained minister through the Universal Life Church because I wanted to officiate a close friend’s wedding and make it a deeply personal, meaningful experience for them. The ULC’s online ordination process was quick, free, and didn’t require me to jump through hoops or align with any specific religious doctrine, which suited me perfectly since I value spiritual freedom. I also liked the idea of being able to perform other ceremonies in the future, like blessings or even funerals, to support my community in a unique way. Plus, the legal recognition of ULC ordination in most places gave me confidence that I could step into this role with legitimacy. It felt like a simple yet powerful way to connect with others on a deeper level, and I’m excited to explore what this new role might bring!
