Tom Cowens
Ordained Minister in Memphis, Tennessee
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
I performed the Wedding Ceremony for my niece/goddaughter and found myself caught up in the whole experience. I am a devout Episcopalian (raised Catholic) so I am familiar with the traditional rites of Marriage. Although the wedding I performed for my goddaughter was officially considered a religious ceremony, it had some less-churchy parts to it. It was a beautiful ceremony - I received a lot of compliments and in fact, a close friend of mine who was at that wedding asked me to officiate at his upcoming marriage. More than once, I have had people say that they thought I was a "real" pastor based on the words/prayers that I use and the wedding messages I have delivered.I understand what they mean and take no offense at that, in fact I see it as a compliment. It means that I am handling myself in a very devout and spiritual manner. I take this very seriously and commit to do my best for you in whatever style you desire. Give me a call as I am happy to talk with you and discuss my services. Let's see if there's a match! Regardless, I wish you the best.
What do you hope to achieve with your online ordination?
To inform those who may be "un-churched" by letting them know that I am available to assist them with some of the most important days in their lives and do so in a very professional and caring manner.
