Sydnie Brwon
Ordained Minister in Escondido, California
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
I sought online ordination in 2014 because I believed—and still believe—that true spiritual care and community service shouldn't be gated by institutional bureaucracy or rigid dogma. I wanted an accessible, self-directed path that allowed me to hold space for people where traditional systems often fall short. For me, ministry has always been about meeting people right where they are—honoring spiritual sovereignty, offering compassionate crisis advocacy, and providing a non-judgmental sanctuary for healing, self-trust, and personal transformation.
Where are you from?
I'm from the Midwest now living in Southern California.
What do you hope to achieve with your online ordination?
I view my ordination as an active extension of my life’s work—bridging holistic spiritual care with real-world community stewardship. Through my initiative, Wildtidewoven, I use this platform to support unhoused families, advocate for neurodiverse individuals, and offer trauma-informed recovery frameworks that empower people to rebuild their lives. Ultimately, I hope to provide meaningful rites of passage, spiritual counsel, and space-holding that help individuals and families anchor lasting peace, dignity, and multi-generational stability.

Additional Information
My spiritual path is rooted in Omnism—a deep reverence for the sacred truth, healing, and wisdom found across all traditions, unconfined by any single institutional dogma. My personal spiritual anchor is deeply tied to Hoodoo rootwork and ancestral veneration, honoring the resilience, protection, and intuitive timing passed down through my lineage. At the same time, my ministry embraces Gnostic principles of direct inner wisdom, earth-based stewardship, and complete inclusivity. I do not require anyone to share my specific spiritual practices to hold space for them. Whether you are spiritual-but-not-religious, interfaith, secular, earth-centered, or honoring your own cultural traditions, my priority is to honor your personal sovereignty and help you craft a ceremony or rite of passage that feels grounded, authentic, and deeply sacred to you.
What do you think makes your ceremonies special as a Escondido, CA wedding officiant?
What makes my ceremonies special is deep intentionality and authentic storytelling. I don't do cookie-cutter or rigid scripts. Instead, I take the time to really listen to each couple’s journey, values, and vision so their ceremony feels completely personal, relaxed, and true to who they are. Because of my background in trauma-informed space-holding and holistic care, I excel at creating a calm, grounded atmosphere where couples and their loved ones can be fully present without stress or performative pressure. Whether blending diverse cultural or ancestral traditions, crafting secular vows, or honoring unique spiritual paths, I ensure every ceremony feels sacred, joyful, and deeply meaningful.
