Randy Wicklund
Ordained Minister in Oklahoma city, Oklahoma
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
I want to be an unprejudiced minister who welcomes people without discrimination, including same-sex couples, and who can help people through some of the most meaningful moments in their lives.
My purpose included: - Same-sex unions: Giving couples the opportunity to celebrate their love and commitment without prejudice. - Weddings: Helping people begin their lives together through a meaningful ceremony. - Baptisms: Supporting families and individuals in celebrating faith and spiritual milestones. - Funerals: Helping families honor loved ones and find comfort during times of loss.
I want to be available to people throughout life's major milestones, regardless of who they are or whom they love. I hope to offer compassion, dignity, and support to people when those things matter most.
Where are you from?
My story began in El Paso, Texas, where my twin and I were born at Fort Bliss while my dad was serving in the Army. When we were just six months old, our family moved to Wisconsin, where I grew up in Waukesha. Those early years helped shape the person I am today and are an important part of my family’s story. Life has brought me to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, where I live today. Although I have lived in different places, each chapter of my life has helped shape my values, my outlook on life, and the importance I place on treating others with kindness, compassion, and respect.
What do you hope to achieve with your online ordination?
I believe in treating everyone with kindness, dignity, and respect, regardless of their background, beliefs, or who they love. I believe everyone deserves compassion, acceptance, and the freedom to be true to themselves.

Additional Information
I was raised in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), was an active member of a United Methodist Church (UMC), and am currently a member of the United Church of Christ (UCC). My faith journey has allowed me to experience different Christian traditions and has helped shape my understanding of faith, community, and service to others.
Throughout my journey, I have come to believe that God's love is for everyone and that our faith should bring people together rather than push them apart. I value a welcoming and inclusive approach to ministry, where people are accepted for who they are and where love, compassion, and understanding are at the heart of everything we do.
What do you think makes your ceremonies special as a Oklahoma city, OK wedding officiant?
I believe what makes my ceremonies special is that I welcome everyone with an open heart and an open mind. Love is love, and every couple deserves to have their relationship celebrated with dignity, respect, and joy. I strive to make each ceremony personal, meaningful, and reflective of the couple’s unique story, values, and commitment to one another. Whether a couple wants a traditional ceremony, something simple and intimate, or a celebration that reflects their own personalities, I want them to feel comfortable, accepted, and truly special. To me, being a wedding officiant is about more than performing a ceremony; it is about helping two people begin their lives together with love, understanding, and the freedom to be themselves.
