Douglas Membreno
Ordained Minister in Miami, Florida
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
I originally became an ordained minister in 2020 because I wanted to be able to officiate weddings and memorial services for people within my community during some of the most meaningful moments of their lives.
Over time, what began as a practical step became part of a deeper journey of service, personal growth, and spiritual development. It eventually contributed to my desire to create Comunidad Arbol de Vida, a community focused on helping people grow in awareness, purpose, and connection while applying spiritual wisdom to everyday life.
For me, ministry is ultimately about serving others with love, empathy, and intention, and creating spaces where people can reflect, grow, and live with greater purpose.
Where are you from?
I was born and raised in El Salvador, and I have called Miami, Florida home since 1998.
What do you hope to achieve with your online ordination?
I hope to use my ordination as another way to serve and support people during meaningful moments in their lives, whether through weddings, memorial services, spiritual guidance, or community gatherings.
Through Comunidad Arbol de Vida, I also hope to create spaces where people can reflect, grow in awareness, reconnect with their purpose, and find practical wisdom for everyday life. My goal is not simply to perform ceremonies, but to serve with love, empathy, authenticity, and respect for each person’s individual journey.
Religious Affiliations
Christianity, Kabbalah, Spiritualism, Universal Life Church
Additional Information
My spiritual journey has been shaped by a lifelong desire to grow, learn, and serve others. While I am ordained through Universal Life Church, my approach to ministry is open, respectful, and centered on the belief that spiritual wisdom should help us become more conscious, compassionate, and purposeful in the way we live and serve others. I continue to study and learn from different spiritual traditions and teachings while respecting each person’s individual beliefs and journey. Through Comunidad Arbol de Vida, my intention is to create a welcoming space for reflection, personal growth, spiritual awareness, and meaningful connection.
What do you think makes your ceremonies special as a Miami, FL wedding officiant?
I believe what makes my ceremonies special is that I focus on the people, not just the ceremony. I take the time to understand each couple’s story, values, and what their commitment means to them, so the ceremony feels personal, authentic, and meaningful. My goal is to create a moment that reflects who they truly are while honoring the love, commitment, and intention behind the decision they are making. I want couples and their families to remember not only what was said, but how they felt in that moment.
Are there particular areas near you where you prefer to travel or have special experience?
I am based in South Florida and have been serving communities through different organizations since 1998. I am available throughout Miami-Dade and surrounding areas and especially enjoy serving multicultural communities. I primarily offer ceremonies and services in Spanish, which is my preferred language.
