Austin Openshaw
Ordained Minister in Forest Hill, Louisiana
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
I originally became an ordained minister because I wanted to be able to be there for people during some of the most meaningful moments of their lives. I’ve always felt that a wedding should be about more than just signing paperwork—it’s about bringing two people together and making that moment something they’ll remember for the rest of their lives. Being able to help make that happen for friends, family, and others is what really drew me to becoming ordained.
Where are you from?

What do you hope to achieve with your online ordination?
I hope to use my ordination to help people create meaningful moments they’ll remember for the rest of their lives. Whether it’s officiating a wedding for close friends or meeting a couple for the first time, I want to make the ceremony personal, comfortable, and true to who they are. Ultimately, I’d love for people to look back and feel like I helped make an important day in their lives even more special.

What do you think makes your ceremonies special as a Forest Hill, LA wedding officiant?
What makes my ceremonies special is that I don’t believe there’s a “one-size-fits-all” wedding ceremony. I take the time to get to know the couple and make the ceremony feel like them. I want it to be meaningful, personal, and genuine—with the right amount of emotion, laughter, and love. At the end of the day, I want the couple and their families to walk away feeling like they just witnessed something truly special, not just another ceremony.
