Minister Evans
Ordained Minister in New Orleans, Louisiana
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
I became an ordained minister online because I realized early on that traditional institutions often leave little room for people who walk outside standard boxes. I saw a profound need in my community for a facilitator who could hold sacred space without dogma, judgment, or unnecessary gatekeeping.
Ultimately, it gave me the freedom to meet folks where they actually are. It allowed me to blend my skills as a coach and spiritual practitioner with the legal authority to officiate weddings, perform rites of passage, and facilitate space blessings that genuinely reflect the diverse backgrounds, ancestral traditions, and personal beliefs of the people I serve.
Where are you from?
I am from Omaha, Nebraska
What do you hope to achieve with your online ordination?
My goal with my online ordination is to create an accessible sanctuary for people who need sacred space crafted on their own terms. Too often, people feel excluded by traditional spiritual spaces or struggle to find someone who respects their specific heritage, ancestral path, or syncretic beliefs. Having this ordination allows me to serve as a legal and spiritual bridge. Giving me the authority to show up for people during their most significant life transitions without forcing them into a box.
Looking ahead, this is also about building a lasting foundation for community care, including establishing the Temple of Seven Currents. I want to use this platform to offer genuine rites of passage, pre-marital alignment, space blessings, and ancestral honorings that celebrate the full complexity of who people are.

Additional Information
My faith and spiritual practice aren't rooted in a single, rigid box. They’re an organic, living reflection of reverence, lineage, and deep historical study. As an ordained minister, I honor the wisdom found across diverse traditions like Hoodoo, African Traditional Religions (ATRs), and Norse spirituality. I don't see these paths as conflicting; rather, I recognize the shared threads of ancestral veneration, respect for the natural world, and cosmic balance that run through them all.
This broad perspective allows me to meet people exactly where they are on their own journeys, creating a welcoming and sacred environment for individuals and couples of all backgrounds.
When you work with me, you’re getting a minister who truly respects your spiritual language, whether that looks like traditional folk magic, nature-based earth traditions, or a unique blend of heritage and personal faith.
I believe that sacred work should always feel authentic, empowering, and resonant to the people living it. My role isn't to project a set dogma onto your moment, but to serve as a grounded, knowledgeable bridge. Helping you weave your specific spiritual lineage, ancestral traditions, and personal beliefs into a ceremony that feels completely home.
What do you think makes your ceremonies special as a New Orleans, LA wedding officiant?
What makes my ceremonies special isn’t just the words spoken at the altar. For me, it’s the intentional foundation laid before anyone ever walks down the aisle. Drawing from my work and experiences, I bring decades of being a social worker, educator, and life coaching into every union.
I don't just perform a script. I listen closely to the nuances of each couple’s journey, helping them translate their shared history, values, and vision into a moment that feels entirely theirs. My approach bridges grounded human connection with a touch of intuitive warmth, ensuring every element of the ceremony carries genuine emotional weight.
Ultimately, couples feel the difference because the atmosphere created is sacred, personal, and deeply inclusive rather than transactional. Whether holding space for quiet reverence or joy-filled celebration, I guide the room with a calm, seasoned presence that allows everyone present to feel fully rooted in the magic of the moment. It’s a synthesis of storytelling, soul, and structured care. A ritual designed not just to declare a legal union, but to honor the heart and spirit of the bond being celebrated.

Additional Information
Beyond the altar, my work as a minister is about holding space for all of life’s major thresholds and transitions. Whether I’m guiding a family through a baby blessing, officiating a vow renewal, or honoring someone’s legacy during a memorial service, I bring the exact same blend of grounded heart, ancestral respect, and intentional care.
Life doesn't just happen in neat little boxes, and the rituals we create for life’s interesting moments shouldn't either. I love working directly with folks to weave in meaningful, custom elements like handfasting, broom jumping, or libations. Things that truly mirror their personal story and heritage.
Because of my background in coaching and spiritual work, I also walk with people through the preparation phase long before the ceremony day arrives. I offer pre-marital and transitional counseling to help couples align their values, navigate big emotional shifts, and move into their next season with complete clarity. Beyond personal milestones, I also facilitate space blessings and energy clearings for new homes and businesses.
At the end of the day, my goal is simple: to offer a calm, deeply supportive presence that honors every step with soul, dignity, and real human connection.
