Allison Dey
Ordained Minister in Fort Scott, Kansas
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
I became one years ago, but realize my name changed with marriage so it was time to get a new one. I originally became ordained so I could officiate at a friend's wedding in 1978.
Where are you from?
All over the US, currently living in SE Kansas.
What do you hope to achieve with your online ordination?
If someone can't find an officiant, and the relationship is solid and good, I hope to provide a service for those sweet souls.
Religious Affiliations
Buddhism, Mahayana Buddhism, Tibetan Buddhism, Universal Life Church, Vajrayana Buddhism
Additional Information
I am a Buddhist in the Tibetan tradition having studied for more than 30 years with the Dalai Lama, Khen Rinpoche Lobsang Tharchin, Lati Rinpoche, and other Tibetan teachers. I was also asked by my teacher to provide initiations and teach the Dharma 20 years ago.
What do you think makes your ceremonies special as a Fort Scott, KS wedding officiant?
Very couple-centered. Often I find the couple wants to include family in the service and not just face each other and say vows. Having a community-family-based ceremony is quite special.
Are there particular areas near you where you prefer to travel or have special experience?
I will travel further but depends on my travel and accommodation costs. I do not charge for spiritual services. Donations are accepted.
