Irene Boston
Ordained Minister in Jamaica, New York
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
I originally became an ordained minister online because I genuinely love love. I love seeing two people choose each other, build a life together, and make a promise that means something deeply personal to them.
For me, becoming ordained was not just about being able to perform a wedding ceremony. It was about having the opportunity to be part of one of the most meaningful moments in someone’s life. I wanted to help couples celebrate their commitment in a way that felt personal, heartfelt, and true to who they are.
I believe love deserves to be honored, supported, and celebrated. Being ordained gave me another way to bring people together, speak life over their future, and help create a memory they will carry with them forever. At the heart of it, I became an ordained minister because I love love, I believe in commitment, and I wanted to help people begin their next chapter surrounded by joy, purpose, and genuine care.
Where are you from?
Queens, NY
What do you hope to achieve with your online ordination?
With my online ordination, I hope to help people celebrate love in a way that feels personal, meaningful, and true to who they are. I want couples to feel seen, supported, and comfortable during one of the most important moments of their lives.
I also hope to use my ordination to bring people together, offer encouragement, and create ceremonies that feel warm and genuine instead of rushed or impersonal. Every love story is different, and I would love to help couples begin their next chapter with words that truly reflect their journey, their values, and the life they are building together.
More than anything, I hope to be part of moments filled with love, joy, healing, and new beginnings.
Religious Affiliations
Islam
Additional Information
I am Muslim, and my faith is an important part of who I am. It has taught me the value of love, commitment, compassion, family, respect, and treating others with kindness.
Although I am proud of my religious beliefs, I also respect that every couple may have different traditions, backgrounds, and spiritual views. I want the people I serve to feel welcomed and comfortable, without judgment or pressure.
My goal is to honor each couple’s wishes while bringing sincerity, warmth, and respect to every ceremony. I believe love should be celebrated with dignity, care, and genuine support.
What do you think makes your ceremonies special as a Jamaica, NY wedding officiant?
What makes my ceremonies special is the love, care, and personal attention I put into each one. I do not believe a wedding ceremony should feel generic or like the same words could be used for every couple. Every love story is different, so I take the time to understand the couple, their journey, their personalities, and what their commitment means to them.
I love creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere where couples can relax, be themselves, and truly enjoy the moment. Whether they want something traditional, spiritual, simple, emotional, or filled with laughter, I want the ceremony to reflect who they are.
Most importantly, I officiate from the heart. I genuinely love love, and I feel honored whenever a couple trusts me to stand beside them during such an important moment. My goal is to make every ceremony feel personal, meaningful, and memorable—not only for the couple, but for everyone who came to celebrate with them.
Are there particular areas near you where you prefer to travel or have special experience?
I am located in New York City and registered as a marriage officiant in NYC, which allows me to perform ceremonies throughout all five boroughs: Queens, Brooklyn, Manhattan, the Bronx, and Staten Island.
I am happy to travel to couples throughout the city, whether their ceremony is being held at a traditional wedding venue, a park, a courthouse, a private home, a restaurant, or another location that is meaningful to them. I especially enjoy intimate ceremonies and unique New York City settings that allow couples to make the moment truly their own.
As someone familiar with New York City and its diverse communities, I understand that every borough, neighborhood, family, and love story is different. My goal is to make the experience feel comfortable, personal, and stress-free while honoring each couple’s vision for their special day.
