Tanya M. Lockhart
Ordained Minister in Christiansted, Virgin Islands, U.S.
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
I originally became an ordained minister online because I felt called to serve individuals and families during some of the most meaningful moments of their lives. The online ordination process provided an accessible path for me to begin this work with sincerity and purpose, allowing me to offer support through weddings, baptisms, and funerals in a way that honors each person’s unique story.
My intention has always been to create ceremonies that are heartfelt, dignified, and deeply personal. Becoming ordained allowed me to step into a role where I can provide comfort, guidance, and celebration — whether welcoming new life, uniting couples in marriage, or honoring loved ones who have passed. It is a privilege to walk with people through these sacred milestones, and I approach each service with respect, compassion, and a commitment to excellence.

Through this ordination, I aim to provide compassionate support during weddings, baptisms, and funerals — moments that shape families and communities. I want to ensure that every ceremony feels intentional, dignified, and crafted with care. Ultimately, I hope to build trust with the people I serve, offering guidance, comfort, and a sense of connection.
