Bishop Edwin Thabo Letopa
Ordained Minister in Billings, Montana
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
I originally became an ordained minister online in 2020 in response to a profound calling from God to serve others, share the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and provide spiritual guidance to people from all walks of life. My decision was rooted in a desire to dedicate my life more fully to Christian ministry, pastoral care, prayer, and the advancement of biblical values. I believe that ministry is a sacred responsibility that extends beyond the walls of a church and into the communities, workplaces, and lives of those seeking faith, hope, and purpose.
The online ordination process provided a practical way to formally answer this calling while embracing the opportunities of a modern and connected world. For me, ordination was not merely obtaining a credential, but a public commitment to serve God with humility, integrity, compassion, and servant leadership. My mission remains to glorify God, encourage spiritual growth, support those in need, and be a faithful ambassador of Christ’s love and teachings wherever I am called to serve.
Where are you from?
I was born in South Africa, a nation rich in diversity, resilience, and faith. While South Africa is the land of my birth, I believe my true calling transcends geographical boundaries. As a servant of God, I am committed to serving His people wherever He leads me, recognizing that the Kingdom of God is not confined to any one nation, culture, or community.
My ministry is guided by the belief that all people are children of God and deserving of love, compassion, and spiritual support. Whether serving in Africa or elsewhere in the world, my mission is to share the message of faith, hope, and redemption, to uplift those in need, and to faithfully carry out the work that God has entrusted to me. In this sense, while I come from South Africa, my heart is devoted to serving God’s people throughout the world.
What do you hope to achieve with your online ordination?
I hope to use my online ordination as a platform to serve God more effectively, minister to people across different nations and cultures, and bring hope, encouragement, and spiritual guidance to those seeking a deeper relationship with Him. My desire is to be an instrument of God’s love and grace, helping individuals, families, and communities find purpose, healing, and faith through the teachings of Jesus Christ.
Through my ordination, I aim to dedicate myself to pastoral care, prayer, discipleship, community outreach, and charitable service while embracing the opportunities that modern technology provides to reach people around the world. Above all, I hope to glorify God through a life of service, integrity, and compassion, leaving a positive and lasting impact on the lives of those I am called to serve.
Religious Affiliations
Anglicanism, Buddhism, Christianity, Methodism, Universal Life Church
Additional Information
My religious affiliation is first and foremost with Jesus Christ and the universal body of believers who seek to honor God through faith, service, and obedience to His Word. While I appreciate and respect the various traditions within Christianity, I believe that the mission of the Church extends beyond denominational boundaries and is ultimately centered on sharing God’s love, advancing His Kingdom, and serving humanity.
I am committed to living out the principles of the Christian faith through prayer, worship, discipleship, compassion, and service to others. My ministry is dedicated to bringing people closer to God, strengthening families and communities, and being a faithful servant wherever God calls me to serve. I believe that true ministry is not defined by titles or affiliations alone, but by a life that reflects Christ’s teachings and demonstrates His love in action.
What do you think makes your ceremonies special as a Billings, MT wedding officiant?
What makes my ceremonies special is that they are centered on faith, love, and the sacred covenant that marriage represents before God. I believe that every couple has a unique story, and I strive to create ceremonies that reflect their journey, values, and commitment to one another while honoring the spiritual significance of the union. Rather than simply conducting a formal service, I seek to create a meaningful and memorable experience that celebrates both the couple’s love and God’s presence in their lives.
As an officiant, I bring compassion, sincerity, and a pastoral approach to every ceremony. I aim to inspire couples and their families by emphasizing the principles of love, respect, faithfulness, and lifelong partnership. My desire is that each wedding not only marks the beginning of a marriage but also serves as a blessing, laying a strong spiritual foundation upon which the couple can build a lasting and fulfilling life together.
