Jennifer R. Heller
Ordained Minister in Flint, Michigan
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
My journey toward ordination began in my teenage years in Lemon Grove, California, where I had the privilege of assisting a minister with marriage ceremonies during summer breaks. That experience sparked something in me — witnessing people celebrate the most meaningful moments of their lives was both joyful and deeply fulfilling.
That early calling never left me. When I discovered that ordination through the Universal Life Church was within reach, I knew it was my opportunity to give back to my community in a truly meaningful way. I became ordained to help people honor and celebrate life's greatest milestones — the moments that matter most.

What do you hope to achieve with your online ordination?
My goal is simple: to be a safe, welcoming presence for anyone who wants to celebrate life's most sacred moments. Whether I am performing a marriage ceremony, a funeral, or a memorial service, I am committed to providing an experience that is respectful, dignified, and inclusive of all religious backgrounds, genders, and sexual orientations.
Everyone deserves to have their love honored and their life celebrated — no exceptions. I want every person who comes to me to know they have found a safe space, and a minister who truly believes that God loves each and every one of His children unconditionally. Love is love, and it is not my place to judge. That is between each person and God, who ultimately has the final say.
My ordination is my way of showing up for my community — to serve all people with an open heart and open arms.

What do you think makes your ceremonies special as a Flint, MI wedding officiant?
What makes my ceremonies special is not a script — it is the person standing behind the words. My journey began as a teenager in Lemon Grove, California, where I first experienced the joy of helping bring two people together in marriage. That early passion grew into a genuine calling to serve my community. I bring warmth, inclusivity, and a deep respect for every couple I work with, regardless of their background, faith, gender, or sexual orientation. Every person who stands before me deserves to feel seen, celebrated, and completely at ease on one of the most important days of their life. I work hard to create that safe and welcoming space from the very first conversation. But perhaps most importantly, I officiate from a place of genuine belief — a belief that love is one of God's greatest gifts, and that every love story is worth honoring. I don't just perform ceremonies. I help people mark a moment they will carry with them for the rest of their lives. That is what I hope every couple walks away feeling — that their ceremony was theirs, that it was real, and that it was handled with care.

Additional Information
Absolutely. I understand that life's most meaningful moments don't always look the same for everyone, and I want to make sure my services reflect that. In addition to traditional ceremonies, I am available for elopements for couples who want something intimate and personal, as well as graveside services for families who need a compassionate and dignified presence during life's most difficult moments. Whatever the occasion, every service I provide begins with an initial consultation so that I can get to know you, understand your wishes, and ensure that your ceremony truly reflects who you are. From that first conversation to the final word spoken, everything is delivered with care. No ceremony is too small. No moment is too simple. If it matters to you, it matters to me.
