Hector L Villarreal
Ordained Minister in Alice, Texas
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
I originally became an ordained minister online because I felt called to serve and support people during some of the most important moments of their lives. Throughout my career in public service, military service, leadership, and mentoring, I spent years helping people through crisis, loss, difficult decisions, and personal struggles. Becoming ordained was a natural extension of that commitment to serving others on a deeper spiritual and personal level.
I wanted the ability to:
officiate meaningful wedding ceremonies, provide spiritual encouragement, support families during funerals and memorials, pray with and counsel people during difficult times, and be available to help others in a more faith-centered role.
The online ordination process provided a practical and accessible way to formally step into ministry while continuing to serve my community. For me, ordination was never just about performing ceremonies — it was about answering a calling to lead, encourage, and minister to people with compassion, respect, and integrity.
My experiences in the military, law enforcement, education, and leadership taught me the importance of faith, resilience, family, and human connection. Becoming an ordained minister allowed me to combine those life experiences with my desire to help others spiritually and emotionally.
Ultimately, I became ordained because I wanted to make a positive difference in people’s lives — not only during celebrations like weddings, but also during times when people need hope, guidance, prayer, encouragement, and support the most.

What do you think makes your ceremonies special as a Alice, TX wedding officiant?
What makes my ceremonies special as a wedding officiant is the personal connection I build with each couple and the ability to create a ceremony that truly reflects their story, values, and vision for marriage. I believe a wedding ceremony should be more than just formal words — it should feel meaningful, heartfelt, and memorable for everyone present. My background in leadership, public service, ministry, and counseling has taught me how important it is to connect with people during some of the most important moments of their lives. I bring a calm, professional, and compassionate presence that helps couples feel comfortable and confident throughout the process. I take the time to learn about the couple:
how they met,
what they value,
their faith or beliefs,
their family traditions,
and the kind of atmosphere they want for their ceremony.
Whether the ceremony is:
faith-based,
traditional,
modern,
intimate,
bilingual,
veteran-themed,
or non-denominational,
I work to make it authentic and personal rather than “one-size-fits-all.” I also believe in creating ceremonies that balance:
professionalism,
warmth,
sincerity,
and emotional connection.
Many couples appreciate that I speak naturally and confidently while still keeping the ceremony organized and respectful. My goal is to help create a moment that the couple and their families will remember for years to come. As a veteran, ordained minister, and longtime public servant, I also understand the importance of commitment, honor, loyalty, and family values — and I strive to reflect those principles in every ceremony I officiate. Ultimately, what makes my ceremonies special is that they are centered on the couple, delivered with genuine care, and designed to celebrate not only a wedding day, but the beginning of a lifelong commitment.

I welcome couples and families from diverse backgrounds and work hard to ensure every service feels respectful, personal, and meaningful. Whether someone is seeking a traditional Christian ceremony, a simple civil-style service with faith elements, or a personalized bilingual ceremony, I strive to create an atmosphere that reflects dignity, love, and authenticity. My background as a veteran, longtime law enforcement professional, educator, and ordained minister has given me the ability to connect with people from all walks of life. I especially value serving veterans, first responders, and families who appreciate leadership, commitment, and strong family values. I also believe ministry should be approachable and supportive. I aim to make the process smooth, organized, and stress-free while still keeping the spiritual significance at the center of the occasion. Above all, I consider it an honor and privilege to stand beside individuals and families during important life moments and provide service rooted in faith, respect, encouragement, and compassion.
