Jay Etheridge
Ordained Minister in Odenville, Alabama
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
I became an ordained minister in 2022 because I felt a clear calling from God to step into a role of service, teaching, and spiritual leadership. I recognized a growing need to reach those who feel overlooked, disconnected, or spiritually uncertain; what Scripture often refers to as the Remnant. My purpose is to help guide others back to a deeper understanding of God’s Word, encourage personal responsibility in faith, and walk alongside people as they seek truth, restoration, and a closer relationship with Him. Ordination was a step of obedience, allowing me to formally serve, minister, and be available where God opens the door.

What do you hope to achieve with your online ordination?
I hope to use my ordination to actively teach and share the truth of God’s Word, both online and in personal ministry. Through Remnant Teachings, my goal is to reach those who feel spiritually lost, misled, or disconnected, helping them return to a grounded, biblical understanding of faith. I also intend to serve others in practical ways—officiating ceremonies such as weddings when called upon, offering guidance rooted in Scripture, and being available to minister where God opens doors. My aim is not only to speak truth, but to help people walk it out in their daily lives.

What do you think makes your ceremonies special as a Odenville, AL wedding officiant?
What makes my ceremonies special is that they are never generic: they are personal, intentional, and grounded in meaning. I take time to understand each couple’s story so that their ceremony reflects who they are, not just a standard script.
As an ordained minister, I approach marriage as more than a legal agreement. I present it as a covenant; something deeper, rooted in commitment, purpose, and faith - while keeping the message clear and accessible for everyone present.
My ceremonies are structured but not rigid. I guide the moment with a calm, steady presence, allowing space for significance without turning it into a performance. Couples can also choose to include meaningful elements such as a personal blessing, prayer, or symbolic expressions like the unity of two becoming one.
Above all, I strive to create a moment that people don’t just witness.but truly feel. A ceremony that honors the couple, respects the importance of the day, and leaves a lasting impression long after it’s over.
