Rev. Christine Cochran
Ordained Minister in Troy, Kansas
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
I serve as a chaplain focused on being present for people in real-life situations, especially in moments of struggle, loss, or uncertainty. My ministry is grounded in listening, honesty, and meeting people where they are without judgment. I believe ministry happens outside traditional settings, in everyday life where people need support the most.
I became ordained online to remove barriers and be able to serve people immediately when they needed it. Many people will not step into a church, but they still need guidance, prayer, and support. Ordination gave me the ability to step in during those moments and be there for them.
Where are you from?
Troy, Kansas
What do you hope to achieve with your online ordination?
To serve people in real, practical ways during some of the most important and difficult moments of their lives
To provide spiritual support, guidance, and presence to those who may not feel comfortable in traditional church settings
To officiate meaningful ceremonies such as weddings, funerals, and memorials with authenticity and care
To reach people beyond the walls of a building, meeting them where they are online, in communities, and in everyday life
To live out my calling as a chaplain by offering compassion, listening without judgment, and walking alongside others in their journey

What do you think makes your ceremonies special as a Troy, KS wedding officiant?
What makes my ceremonies special is that they are never just a script. They are a reflection of the couple standing in front of me.
I take time to understand your story, how you met, what you have been through, and what matters most to you, so the ceremony feels real instead of generic. Whether it is faith centered, simple and intimate, or something unique, I shape the moment to fit who you are.
I also bring a grounded chaplain style presence. I am not just there to speak. I am there to hold the moment. I pay attention to the emotional weight of the day, making sure it feels meaningful and sincere, not rushed or staged.
What people remember is not just what was said, but how it felt. My goal is that when you walk away, you do not just feel like you had a wedding. You feel like you experienced something personal, powerful, and unforgettable.

Additional Information
I provide more than just a ceremony; I help create a meaningful experience that reflects the heart of the people involved. Whether it is a wedding, vow renewal, funeral, or time of crisis, I focus on being present, listening well, and speaking words that bring truth, comfort, and connection.
My approach is personal and grounded. I meet people where they are in life and in faith without pressure or judgment. I believe moments like these should feel real, not scripted, so I take time to understand each story and honor it with care.
As a minister and chaplain I also see my role beyond the event itself I am there for support encouragement and guidance when it is needed most not just on the day of a ceremony but in the moments that surround it
