Max Van Massey
Ordained Minister in GREATER MANCHESTER, England
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
I originally became an ordained minister online because I felt a strong and clear calling to serve others in meaningful ways, and I wanted a path that allowed me to step into that calling fully and responsibly. Ministry, to me, is not about a title or a building; it is about being present, offering guidance, and helping people find connection, purpose, and hope during some of the most important moments of their lives.
Online ordination provided a practical and accessible way to formalize this calling. It enabled me to officiate weddings, lead ceremonies, provide blessings, and support families during milestones such as baptisms, funerals, and other sacred events. It also offered the flexibility to minister across different communities and locations, meeting people where they are while upholding the seriousness and responsibility of ordained service.
For me, it was not simply a matter of convenience. Online ordination allowed me to bridge the gap between calling and action, giving me the authority and framework to serve in a meaningful, recognized, and responsible way. At its heart, my decision was driven by a desire to accompany people in their sacred moments—to help them feel supported, spiritually grounded, and cared for in ways that leave a lasting impact.
Where are you from?
I was born and raised in the United Kingdom, where I grew up immersed in a community that valued faith, service, and connection. My upbringing instilled in me a deep respect for others, a sense of responsibility, and a desire to contribute meaningfully to the lives of those around me.
Over time, I discovered my calling to ministry through both formal and informal experiences—serving, mentoring, and guiding people through challenges, milestones, and celebrations. These experiences shaped my understanding of the importance of presence, compassion, and support in ministry, and fueled my desire to step into an official role where I could serve with greater authority and responsibility. My roots in the UK continue to inform my approach to ministry, grounding me in values of integrity, empathy, and care for every individual I encounter.
What do you hope to achieve with your online ordination?
Through my online ordination, I hope to serve others with integrity, compassion, and dedication, offering meaningful guidance and support at every stage of life. I aim to officiate weddings, lead ceremonies, provide blessings, and offer pastoral care that uplifts and encourages individuals and families in times of joy, transition, or challenge.
More than simply holding a title, I hope to faithfully live out the calling I feel—to be a steady presence in people’s lives, to nurture hope, and to help others find deeper meaning in life’s milestones. I desire to create moments that leave a lasting positive impact, guiding people toward understanding, connection, and spiritual grounding.
Ultimately, my goal is to serve with both heart and responsibility, using my ordination as a tool to extend care, support, and encouragement wherever it is needed. I hope that through this ministry, I can help people feel seen, valued, and spiritually supported, fostering a sense of purpose, hope, and love that endures beyond the moment of any ceremony.
