Faded Heartwood
Ordained Minister in South Salt Lake, Utah
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
From a young age, I was drawn to spirituality and service. As a Catholic altar server, I found myself curious about what it meant to become a priest—to guide, to heal, and to hold space for others. Even then, I felt there was more to healing than what I was being shown. I longed to connect more deeply—with people, with energy, with love itself.
As I grew, so did my understanding of who I am. Coming out as a gay man during a time when the church faced its own struggles challenged my path. I wrestled with my place within religion, often stepping away, yet always continuing to seek truth and connection.
Over time, that journey led me inward. I expanded beyond traditional structures and embraced my identity as a spiritual, non-binary being—one rooted in love, acceptance, and abundance. My path became one of exploration, learning, and integration across many belief systems.
Years later, when a friend asked me to officiate their wedding, it became a turning point. Saying yes led me to become ordained, opening a new chapter of service—one where I could hold space for others in deeply personal and meaningful ways.
Today, my practice is ever-evolving. I’ve studied and experienced many spiritual traditions, with my current focus rooted in Buddhism. Through it all, my purpose remains the same: to create space for healing, connection, and love in all forms.
