Devin Brinkley
Ordained Minister in Swan Point, Maryland
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
As I approached my 10th wedding anniversary, I found myself reflecting on how powerful marriage can be. It is not always easy, but it is one of the most meaningful journeys I have experienced and I would not trade it for anything. My husband is a wedding caterer, so over the years I have had the chance to witness many beautiful love stories through his work. Seeing so many couples celebrate their commitment inspired me to want to play a more direct role in those moments. I also wanted to create a welcoming option for couples who may not feel at home in a traditional church setting or who simply want a ceremony that reflects their own beliefs and values. Everyone deserves a space where their love is honored and celebrated.
Where are you from?
I was born and raised in the DMV area.
What do you hope to achieve with your online ordination?
My goal is to create a warm, inclusive space where couples from all backgrounds feel comfortable and supported as they celebrate their commitment to one another. Whether couples are religious, spiritual, secular, or still figuring it out, I want their ceremony to feel authentic to who they are. Love looks different for everyone, and I believe every couple deserves a ceremony that honors their story and their journey together.

Additional Information
I work with couples from many different backgrounds and belief systems. My approach is inclusive and non-denominational, which simply means the ceremony can look however the couple wants it to. Some couples like to include prayers or religious traditions, others prefer something more spiritual, and some want a completely secular ceremony. I’m happy to meet people wherever they are. My focus is on honoring the couple’s values and helping create a ceremony that feels true to them and meaningful for the moment they’re sharing together.
What do you think makes your ceremonies special as a Swan Point, MD wedding officiant?
I believe the best ceremonies feel personal, genuine, and a little joyful. I like taking the time to learn about each couple so the ceremony reflects their story and the journey that brought them together. No two relationships are the same, so I never want a ceremony to feel like it came from a template. I also enjoy weaving in a little light humor when it fits, because love is beautiful but it can be funny too. A great ceremony should feel meaningful, maybe bring a few happy tears, and give everyone a moment to smile and celebrate the couple standing in front of them.

Additional Information
I believe weddings should feel welcoming and comfortable for everyone involved. I love working with couples from all backgrounds, belief systems, and identities, and I’m happy to create ceremonies that are religious, spiritual, secular, or somewhere in between. At the end of the day, the ceremony should reflect the couple and what feels meaningful to them. My goal is simply to help couples feel supported, celebrated, and fully present while they share one of the most important moments of their lives with the people they love.
