Jona' Allen
Ordained Minister in Portland, Oregon
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
My decision to become an ordained minister grew from the work I was already doing—not from a desire to change my path, but to honor it more fully. As a spiritual healer and ceremony holder, I have long supported people during meaningful life moments that call for presence, reverence, and spiritual care. Online ordination offered a practical and accessible way to formally recognize this role while allowing me to continue serving in alignment with my values. Rather than seeking hierarchy or authority, I sought legitimacy and protection—for myself and for those I serve—so that sacred work could be offered responsibly, respectfully, and within clear boundaries.

What do you hope to achieve with your online ordination?
Through ordination, I hope to: Hold ceremonies with integrity and intention, including healing rituals, blessings, rites of passage, and unions, in a way that is inclusive and spiritually grounded.
Provide spiritual care that honors diverse beliefs, without imposing doctrine, while respecting the personal and cultural traditions of each individual.
Create safe, recognized space for hands-on spiritual healing, prayer, and ceremony—especially in moments of transition, grief, commitment, or renewal.
Bridge ancient ways of healing with modern life, offering people connection, meaning, and grounding without separation from their existing faiths or medical care.
Ordination allows me to stand clearly in my role as a guide and witness—to hold space with accountability, compassion, and respect—while continuing to serve my community in ways that are both spiritually meaningful and practically sound.

What do you think makes your ceremonies special as a Portland, OR wedding officiant?
As an Ordained Minister and Reiki Master, I create wedding ceremonies that go beyond the script—offering couples a deeply grounded, trauma-informed, and consent-centered experience. I hold space for both spiritual and non-spiritual participants, blending intention, presence, and optional ritual to honor the body, mind, and heart. My ceremonies help couples and guests feel fully present, supported, and transformed, leaving a lasting sense of meaning, connection, and calm that extends far beyond the vows.
