Shanise Ferguson
Ordained Minister in League City, Texas
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
While marrying my wife, we were given a list of officiant options at the courthouse, and none of them really resonated with us or clearly reflected LGBTQ-affirming values. That experience opened my eyes to how limited and impersonal the process can feel. I chose to become an ordained minister so I could offer my community something different—ceremonies rooted in inclusion, authenticity, and respect for every kind of love.
Where are you from?
I was born and raised in Dickinson, Texas, and now live in League City.
What do you hope to achieve with your online ordination?
I hope to create more inclusive, affirming spaces for people who don’t always see themselves represented in traditional ceremonies. Through my ordination, I want to serve my community by offering meaningful, personalized ceremonies—especially for LGBTQ+ couples—so everyone feels seen, respected, and celebrated.

What do you think makes your ceremonies special as a League City, TX wedding officiant?
My ceremonies are intentionally inclusive and affirming. I create space for couples—especially LGBTQ+ couples—to feel safe, respected, and celebrated without having to explain or justify who they are. Every ceremony is customized to reflect the couple’s story, values, and love, not a one-size-fits-all template.
