Matthew H Rothert
Ordained Minister in Thompson's Station, Tennessee
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
To officiate my friends wedding. This is how I began back in California over ten years ago. I loved doing it so much and it was very natural for me. One of my friends that I married was a wedding planner and she began recommending me to her clients. Since then I have officiated over 50 weddings and have more than 10 scheduled for this year.
Where are you from?
I was born in Arkansas and as a kid we moved to Michigan, Connecticut and finally North Carolina. I went to Wheaton College near Chicago and after graduating lived in Wisconsin, Illinois and Minnesota. I moved to California and lived there for 20 years. About 5 years ago, my wife and our two sons moved to Tennessee.
What do you hope to achieve with your online ordination?
I love being able to officiate weddings and The Monastery made it very easy.
