Frederick Williams-Joshua Hawkins
Ordained Minister in Atlanta, Georgia
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
I desire to become an ordained minister first and foremost because of a genuine spiritual calling to serve, guide, and support others through life’s most meaningful moments. Ordination allows me to walk alongside individuals and families by offering prayer, counsel, encouragement, and compassion during times of celebration, transition, and hardship. It provides a framework to serve people beyond the walls of traditional institutions, while honoring faith, inclusivity, and personal spiritual expression.
Becoming an ordained minister also enables me to engage in meaningful community service, including offering support during times of grief, providing blessings and memorial services, and serving in chaplain-like roles where spiritual presence and moral guidance are needed. It offers legitimacy and accountability to lead spiritual conversations, advocate for others, and represent a faith-based commitment rooted in service rather than formality.
Additionally, ordination provides the flexibility to support others in both personal and professional capacities, including counseling, mentoring, and facilitating ceremonies that reflect the values and beliefs of those involved. Finally, becoming an ordained minister allows me to legally officiate marriages, giving me the opportunity to unite couples in a deeply personal and meaningful way by honoring their commitment, faith, and love through a ceremony led by someone they trust.
Where are you from?
I am originally from Inglewood, California; however, my life’s journey has taken me to several places for both educational and personal growth. I relocated to Atlanta, Georgia to pursue my education, and later spent a brief period in Rochester, New York for additional educational and personal development. I am now based in Atlanta, Georgia, where I continue to build professionally and personally, and spiritually.
What do you hope to achieve with your online ordination?
I hope to become an ordained minister in response to a spiritual calling to serve others with compassion, faith, and humility. My desire is to offer spiritual guidance, prayer, and encouragement to people during life’s most meaningful and challenging moments, helping them find peace, clarity, and purpose. Through ministry, I seek to live out my faith through service—walking alongside others in love, understanding, and spiritual growth.

What do you think makes your ceremonies special as a Atlanta, GA wedding officiant?
My approach to officiating weddings is unique because it centers on authenticity, spiritual intention, and genuine connection. Rather than delivering a one-size-fits-all ceremony, I seek to understand each couple’s journey, values, and vision for their union. This allows me to create a ceremony that reflects who they truly are—honoring their love story while grounding the moment in purpose, respect, and spiritual significance. By combining heartfelt presence with thoughtful words, I aim to make each ceremony feel personal, memorable, and deeply meaningful for the couple and those who witness it.
Are there particular areas near you where you prefer to travel or have special experience?
With a Master’s in Social Work and a law school background, working alongside an attorney in the field of family and divorce law has provided me with a unique combination of legal knowledge, social insight, and practical experience. This background allows me to approach sensitive situations with empathy, professionalism, and a deep understanding of family dynamics and legal processes.
In addition to my specialized training, I bring a high level of flexibility and willingness to travel, ensuring that I can serve clients or communities wherever my skills are needed. This combination of expertise, experience, and adaptability allows me to provide thoughtful guidance, support, and presence in both professional and spiritual contexts.
