Minister Jason McHarg
Ordained Minister in Rancho Cordova, California
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
I became an ordained minister online because it aligned with both my faith and my educational background. I’ve spent years studying Scripture, theology, and Christian counseling, and I’ve consistently felt called to walk with people during meaningful moments in their lives—whether that’s marriage, grief, spiritual growth, or life transitions.
Online ordination wasn’t about taking shortcuts; it was a practical pathway that allowed me to legally serve in roles I was already stepping into spiritually and pastorally. It gave me the ability to officiate weddings, offer spiritual guidance, and provide ministry support in a way that’s accessible, inclusive, and rooted in my Christian convictions.
For me, ordination is less about a title and more about accountability, preparation, and being equipped to serve people with integrity, wisdom, and compassion—where faith meets real life.
Where are you from?
Originally from Oxnard California currently living in Rancho Cordova California.
What do you hope to achieve with your online ordination?
I hope to use my online ordination to help as many people as I can navigate real life issues with faith, clarity, and hope. My goal is to walk alongside people during meaningful moments and challenging seasons, offering spiritual guidance, encouragement, and practical support rooted in Christian values.
Ultimately, I want to help people live more faithful, hope-filled lives—whether that’s through counseling, prayer, officiating life events, or simply being a steady presence when they need guidance. My ordination gives me the opportunity to serve beyond traditional settings and meet people where they are, while staying grounded in my faith and calling.

Additional Information
I am a Christian minister, and my faith is the foundation of my life and the way I serve others. My beliefs shape my values, my approach to ministry, and how I care for people, while still allowing me to be respectful, compassionate, and welcoming to those from different backgrounds or at different places in their faith journey.
What do you think makes your ceremonies special as a Rancho Cordova, CA wedding officiant?
What makes my ceremonies special is that they’re real and personal. I’m down to earth, and I take the time to get to know each couple so the ceremony actually reflects who they are—not something copied from a script or rushed through.
I focus on creating a moment that feels meaningful, relaxed, and authentic. Whether the tone is lighthearted, reflective, or deeply emotional, my goal is for couples and their guests to feel like the ceremony truly belongs to them. I want people to walk away thinking, ‘That felt like us.’
Are there particular areas near you where you prefer to travel or have special experience?
