Johnny R Cooper
Ordained Minister in Keota, Oklahoma
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
I chose to become ordained to provide a legal and sacred framework for my community's spiritual needs. As a practitioner of Asatru and Druidism, I recognized that many people in the Pagan and Heathen communities lack access to officiants who truly understand and honor their specific traditions. This ordination allows me to bridge that gap and provide authentic representation for life's most sacred milestones.
Where are you from?
I am from Keota, Oklahoma where the local landscape deeply informs my connection to the earth and my spiritual practice.
What do you hope to achieve with your online ordination?
I hope to provide a bridge for those seeking spiritual services that align with Earth-centered and Old Norse traditions. My goal is to offer a legitimate, compassionate presence for life’s most important transitions—such as handfastings and naming ceremonies—ensuring that those in the Pagan and Heathen communities feel seen, respected, and spiritually supported.

Additional Information
My practice is a harmonious blend of Norse Heathenry and Celtic Druidry. I am an 'All-Enframer' of the natural world, seeing the divine in the Yggdrasil-like interconnectedness of all life. While my roots are in Asatru and the Druidic path, I serve all who seek a ceremony rooted in honor, hospitality, and the cycles of the seasons. I am comfortable performing both 'Reconstructionist' rituals and more contemporary Neo-Pagan handfastings. Beyond the payment options I also barter.
What do you think makes your ceremonies special as a Keota, OK wedding officiant?
I bring the temple of the outdoors into the ceremony. Using Ogham Druidry and the Havamal as inspiration, I create rituals that celebrate the wildness of love. Whether it’s a handfasting or a hammer-consecrated union, my weddings are designed to feel like a natural extension of the landscape, focused on authenticity and the 'Old Ways' of making a promise.
Are there particular areas near you where you prefer to travel or have special experience?
I am an adventurous officiant who thrives in natural settings. I have extensive experience performing ceremonies in state parks, private woodland estates, and mountain overlooks. I am well-equipped to travel to any site where the couple feels a strong connection to the land and their ancestors.

Additional Information
I am well-versed in both the Elder Futhark and Ogham, allowing me to create custom, hand-written blessings or 'binding runes' specifically for the couple. I offer guidance on traditional Norse 'Morgen-gifu' (morning gift) traditions and can perform ceremonies in natural settings—forests, groves, or stone circles—where the veil is thin and the energy is right. I am happy to work with couples to find the perfect balance between historical reconstruction and modern celebration.
