Kylie Whetstone
Ordained Minister in Chester, Oklahoma
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
Being a nurse has shaped the very core of who I am—teaching me compassion, patience, resilience, and the sacred responsibility of caring for people in their most vulnerable moments. Every shift places me at the bedside of humanity, where I witness pain, healing, loss, and hope all woven together. Nursing has shown me that service is not just a profession, but a calling rooted in empathy and love. Through this work, I’ve learned how powerful presence can be—how listening, holding space, and offering reassurance can bring peace even when circumstances cannot be changed. That same calling is what draws me to becoming an ordained minister. I want to help people step into one of life’s most meaningful moments: marriage. To stand beside couples as they commit their lives to one another is an extension of the care I already give as a nurse. It is about honoring love, unity, and intention. I believe marriage is not just a ceremony, but a promise made with purpose, and I want to help couples begin that journey feeling supported, understood, and deeply seen. Blending nursing and ministry allows me to serve people not only in moments of crisis, but also in moments of joy, celebration, and lifelong commitment.
