Kathryn Bailey
Ordained Minister in Carlsbad, New Mexico
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
I became an ordained minister because I believe meaningful ceremonies should be inclusive, deeply personal, and rooted in human dignity rather than dogma. Through my work as a coach and former emergency medical professional, I have been present for people during some of the most pivotal moments of their lives. Birth, crisis, loss, healing, and profound transition. Ordination allows me to formally hold space for those moments with integrity, compassion, and respect for each individual’s beliefs, identities, and lived experiences.
Where are you from?
I am originally from New York and currently reside in New Mexico. My background is shaped by diverse communities, frontline service work, and a lifelong commitment to human centered care and ethical leadership.
What do you hope to achieve with your online ordination?
With my ordination, I hope to provide ceremonies and spiritual support that honor people exactly as they are. My goal is to create safe, affirming, and meaningful experiences for couples and individuals who want a ceremony that reflects their values, culture, and story. I also aim to offer grounded guidance during life transitions, drawing from my experience in coaching, trauma informed care, and emergency medicine to support people with calm presence and clarity.

My work is grounded in ethics, compassion, and presence rather than religious hierarchy.
What do you think makes your ceremonies special as a Carlsbad, NM wedding officiant?
My ceremonies are deeply personalized, inclusive, and emotionally attuned. I approach each ceremony with the same care I bring to coaching and emergency medicine: listening closely, staying present, and honoring the moment without rushing or imposing beliefs. I understand how to hold space under pressure, how to read a room, and how to guide people through meaningful moments with steadiness and warmth. Every ceremony is crafted to reflect the couple’s values, identities, and vision, whether spiritual, secular, or somewhere in between.
Are there particular areas near you where you prefer to travel or have special experience?
I am from New York, based in New Mexico and regularly work with clients locally and nationwide. I am open to travel for ceremonies with costs of travel covered, advance planning and clear communication around logistics. I have experience supporting people from diverse cultural, regional, and professional backgrounds, and I am comfortable officiating ceremonies in a wide range of settings including private homes, outdoor locations, destination venues, and nontraditional spaces. My background in emergency medicine and long term coaching work allows me to remain calm, adaptable, and present in dynamic environments.
