Dr. Toby H Lee, DD, Mba
Ordained Minister in Lehi, Utah
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
Throughout my life, a series of profound experiences—both joyful and challenging—touched my soul in ways that awakened a deeper sense of purpose. Over time, what began as a quiet whisper grew into a clear calling: a desire to serve and uplift my fellow human beings. I felt moved to make a tangible difference in the lives of others, to bring comfort where there was pain, and peace where there was turmoil. This path led me to become an ordained minister, not as a title, but as a commitment to walk alongside others with compassion and guidance. As it is written in Matthew 5:9, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.” It is my heartfelt mission to live by these words—to help, to heal, and to contribute to a world where every person feels seen, supported, and at peace.
Where are you from?
My journey began in the vibrant, innovation-driven Bay Area of San Jose, where the energy of Silicon Valley first shaped my worldview. In my youth, my family moved to the lush, green Willamette Valley of Oregon, where the rain-soaked landscapes and slower pace of life taught me to appreciate nature and community. Later, we settled in the serene mountains of Arrowhead in Southern California, surrounded by pine forests and crisp alpine air. For college, I ventured to the quiet, expansive farm country of Southeastern Idaho, where wide-open skies and hardworking values left a lasting impression. I then attended a small private graduate school in the historic Avenues neighborhood of Salt Lake City, Utah, balancing academic rigor with the rugged beauty of the Wasatch Front. Having lived and traveled extensively throughout my years, each place has contributed uniquely to who I am—a tapestry of urban hustle, rural simplicity, mountain solitude, and western spirit.
What do you hope to achieve with your online ordination?
My calling is to bring hope and peace to others through heartfelt service, meeting people where they are with compassion, understanding, and practical support. Guided by faith and a deep sense of purpose, I strive to serve as a vessel of comfort and encouragement—whether in moments of joy or seasons of struggle. By walking alongside others with humility and grace, I aim to reflect the light of hope in dark times and sow seeds of peace in hearts and communities. As Romans 15:13 reminds us, “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” It is my mission to embody this overflow of hope and peace, serving not only with words but with actions that heal, uplift, and transform lives.
